Justin was whelped right here at Skylocke. . .
Into the same litter as his brother
KOHL on Dec 27, 2006.
It was so
very hard for us to make the decision between Justin and Kohl,

But we finally did decide. . . . . we
trusted . . . . .
And we flew Justin off to his new
novice show home in the MidWest.

It Didn't Work Out ~ • ~ Sometimes Things Don't

Here is a pic of Justin as he looked at 11-1/2 weeks old. About 2-1/2 weeks before he left us. What a Guy!

He was happy, showey, training like a pro...
&
LOVING IT!
~~ A BEAUTIFUL SHOW PUPPY ~~
Ready to be trained to be a CHAMPION!

On these pages, we're going to take him
From his Puppyhood to his Present....
And hopefully, right on into his FUTURE

(UPDATES!)
Justin's
SHOW NEWS (click)

We will be EXCLUDING the 8 months' time period from
mid April 2007 - till late December 2007 -
At which time he was relinquished back to us.
Those 8 months are in his past
Now (April 2008),
25 pounds heavier, he's built back his muscles, gets lots of exercise & nutrition, he has moved beyond those months of his young life

And then
he flew away ...

We took this picture
the night before he left
-
April 2007 -

January 2008
Shortly after being relinquished just prior to Christmas 2007

Justin's forward progress
, since he was relinquished, has been maticulously photo-documented
~
We have all watched the miracle unfold ~
And it HAS been a MIRACLE......that he WAS
SAVED, that it was not TOO LATE, and that he has RECOVERED

11 Days after Relinquishment

To the left is a dog who is NOT really considered to be "skinny".
But taking a closer look, you will see
NO muscles, NO fill, NO substance.
Even his face and cheeks were
caved.
He was "on the brink"

±

He had no depth to his body, little tolerance for exercise.....and was in fact
23 POUNDS LESS

Than what you see in the
March 2008 photos below

This is what the elbow placements looked like in Jan 2008.
Poking out, with no muscle or ligament strength to hold them in place. His whole front assembly was loose and wobbly.

ONLY  FIVE weeks
After being relinquished

He was, however, still twisting his body at this point, to keep himself from wobbling.

NOTE:
We would like to make it plain, and with no misunderstanding, that we don't feel there was any intentional
negligence or abuse (per se) involved with this dog......mostly just
novice lack of knowledge
and determination to
do things their way. (Even if it was not the right way for this particular dog)

Had we not been informed by a concerned eye-witness about Justin's rapidly deteriorating condition, we would not have
actually known things had gone that extremely awry for him.
We will be forever grateful for the information we received,
because it spurred us into determined action to gain his IMMEDIATE relinquishment.

Justin needed
fresh air, lots of exercise, proper nutrition (So very necessary for a growing young dog),
a more
structured environment, emotional conditioning and stability
~ to mature into the
beautiful young man you see coming along
below in the candid March photos.....at just
2 1/2 months post-relinquishment-date ~

We have no intention of naming names, pointing fingers or rebutting
qualifications or statements made by anyone.

Those are the backbiting kinds games that little children and irresponsible novices play.

We made a big mistake in our puppy placement......for that,
as his breeder, we are accepting all responsibility.

As well, AS HIS BREEDER, we have made certain
That placement has been UNdone
-
And now Justin can move on -

AND IT is ABOUT THE DOG.....PERIOD

That said.......

LIVE AND LEARN.....WE certainly have
